Yesterday we took the kids shopping to spend all their birthday money. It was a long day, let me tell you. Good, but long! We started off at Target and the girls looked through the clothes, and Annabelle wanted everything. Then we moved on to toys, where they both wanted the most expensive toys they could find. William wanted ALL of the trucks. Finally. Gwen decided that she wanted to take all of her money to the bookstore, because she also had a gift card. Smart girl. Annabelle found a Barbie that she loved and it was in her price range, and William settled for a giant truck. So they went to check out and the little ones just HAD to pay for their toys on their own. So Phil handed them each some cash and let them pay, they were very proud of themselves.
After that we headed to Chuck E. Cheese to let Gwen use her gift cards and have lunch. We love CEC. So Phil took the kids to start spending tokens. We ate lunch, played lots of games, then left....the leaving story? The lady who stamps that glow in the dark ink when you come in did a great job of stamping the kids, not so great on us. They couldn't find the matching number on our arm. SO they ask our kids who we were. Gwen was soooooo not paying attention...but finally answered the question.
We made one more stop, then headed to the book store. Gwen shopped for a while and settled on Chronicles of Narnia and Little Women.Let me remind you, she is 8. I was proud! THEN it was time to go home. We went swimming, Phil made hamburgers. It was great. After dinner we went to Garden Ridge and bought the girls new bed sets. Zebra stripes..so cute!! So all in all a nice day, just really long. The kids had a great time though and everyone was pretty well behaved. :)
