I wish...

I wish I could write a song,
I wish I could write a song that took all the pain away,
A song that would comfort those who hurt,
a song that tells the lonely that they are loved
a song that brought peace to those who are burdened

I wish I could write a song that spoke to every person
a song that touched their hearts
a song that would change their lives
and tell them that there is someone who always cares
someone who is always there

But I can't write a song, not even a poem.
But I can tell them who loves them
regardless
wholly
completely
perfectly
no matter what they say, do, think, wear
no matter what their past

I can tell them that Jesus loved them before they were born
before time began
And that even if only for them,
He would have still come and bled and died
Because they, YOU, were worth it.
